Parent Education

Parent University is a strategy to empower, engage, and connect families to their school community. The core of this family and community engagement strategy is to focus on Parent Learning for the purpose of supporting student achievement.

Women's Leadership Network

 

While being an educational leader is exciting and rewarding it can be very isolating, especially for women. This network is an organized network designed to assist new and aspiring female administrators/leaders and provide greater networking opportunities in a supportive environment.
Led by experienced, successful women, sessions will focus on the key issues facing female educational leaders today:

  • The leadership gap

  • Getting your voice heard

  • Barriers to success

  • Self-confidence

  • The importance of networking

  • The politics of the job,

  • Climbing the ladder of success

 

Leadership Academy

 

This intensive seven-week academy for new or aspiring principals has been designed to meet the challenges of the new millennium. The focus is on increasing leadership effectives, expanding knowledge, and management skills required of assistant principals, new principals, teachers, and aspiring administrators.
Specific themes include:

  • School leadership that works

  • Pathways to educational leadership

  • School Climate and Culture

  • School Budgeting

  • Staffing and Personnel Issues

  • Interview preparation

  • Cover Letter & Resume writing

  • Handling rejection & stress

           Coaching

 

The goal is to provide adolescents with confidence and self-assurance necessary for career and college readiness.

Mentoring model includes:

  • One-on-one model and group setting model between a mentor and a mentee(s).

  • A series of workshops specifically designed for a group or individual setting.

 

          Mentoring

 

The mentor will :

  • Assess the individual strengths and improvement needs of the mentee built upon trust.

  • Develop goals and identify opportunities for professional development and growth through goal-setting strategies.

  • Provide support and guidance in the areas in which are identified as improvement areas.

  • Monitor progress frequently as agreed
